Diogo Dalot could return to Serie A as AS Roma have reportedly identified the fullback as a potential transfer target ahead of the January window.
The 22-year-old Portugal international spent last season on loan at Milan, making 33 competitive appearances in which he scored two goals and provided three assists.
The loan was not made permanent and he returned to Manchester United, but has so far made just six appearances in all competitions.
According to Italian publication Calcio mercato, Dalot could return to Italy for Roma, where he would reunite with former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
Roma’s interest in Diogo Dalot was already rumored earlier in the summer, with the capital club making an effort late in the window to sign him on a dry loan.
Roma are said to be seeking an alternative to Rick Karsdorp at right-back with Dalot’s versatility the key, as he can play on either side of a four-man defence.
It remains to be seen whether United will do the deal and if so will insert an obligation in the loan move.
