Paul Pogba’s contract will expire next summer and he will be free to speak to other clubs in January but United remain hopeful of the Frenchman committing his future to the club but are taking necessary precautions in case they fail to reach an agreement.
Now, according to an Italian publication Calcio Mercato Manchester United have identified AC Milan’s midfielder Franck Kessie as the direct replacement for the 28-year-old midfielder.
Franck Kessie has been one of the red and blacks best players since joining from an Italian side Atalanta in 2017.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder is out of contract next summer and just like Paul Pogba will be free to speak to non-Italian clubs in January. The Ivory Coast international is said to want around €8 million to stay at the San Siro but Milan are offering way below that.
Manchester United, according to various reports, are still confident that Pogba will extend his contract even though negotiations with his agent Mino Raiola are always complex.
