Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Mauro Icardi as a potential replacement for Edinson Cavani during the January transfer window according to a report
Cavani is out of contract at Old Trafford next June and his agent, Walter Guglielmone, recently revealed that his client ‘does not feel too happy’ with his current situation at United under the new boss Ralf Rangnick.
According to Italian publication, Calciomercato, United are already preparing for the striker’s departure and view Icardi as the ideal player to replace the Uruguayan.
Mauro Icardi is in a similar situation to Cavani — struggling for playing time but has played more of late due to Neymar’s injury, however, the report says that he will struggle to keep his place.
The report also claims that Italian giants Juventus are desperate to land the Argentine in January, but face the possibility of missing out on his signature to Ralf Rangnick’s side.
The 28-year-old striker has netted five times in 20 appearances for Les Parisiens this campaign and has scored 38 times and registered 10 assists in 82 appearances since his arrival.
