Anthony Martial is intent on departing Manchester United in January in pursuit of more game time.
The Frenchman’s current contract runs to June 2024 and has an option for a further year but he has not made an appearance under the interim manager, Ralf Rangnick.
According to 90min, Juventus are set to open talks with Manchester United over a deal for the former AS Monaco player.
There were talks as per the source and now Juventus are readying an offer to take Martial on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy which is set to be discussed as part of the ongoing talks.
Juventus have just lost Federico Chiesa for the rest of the season to an injury although they were in the market for a forward before the injury, but now their need is paramount and they are believed to see Martial as the ideal option given his availability.
Martial, 26, made it clear to the club earlier this season that he wanted to leave the club in the January transfer window amid concerns over playing time.
The player and his representatives have been working hard to find a move for him in this window, which United are not opposed to – but they have made it clear a sizable chunk of his wages would need to be covered at the very least.
It was reported last month that an offer from Sevilla was being considered by United, and Martial was keen to make the move – but there were issues over his wages being covered by La Liga’s surprise package.
With the move to Sevilla stalled, Martial has been attracting interest from elsewhere with Newcastle United, Barcelona and now Juventus all in for his signature.
