Following United’s deflating 2-1 loss to Swiss Champions Young Boys and a run of 2 defeats at home, Mino Raiola commented on the future of Paul Pogba, as he does nearly every year.
Mino Raiola told Rai Sport “Paul Pogba is out of contract in June, so we’ll talk with Man Utd and we’ll see what happens. Juventus? Paul still loves Turin. There’s a chance that Pogba will return to Juventus, yes – but it also depends on Juventus plans”
Raiola, who is known for his openness and controversy in the media, is disliked by fans across Europe including those of United. Sir Alex Ferguson famously called Mino Raiola a “S***bag” after Paul Pogba departed Manchester United in 2011 for Turin.
The possibility of Paul Pogba signing a new contract at Manchester United seems to always be changing. Last year, Fabrizio Romano reported he was open to signing a new contract with Manchester United then during the transfer window he claimed United hit a dead-end in negotiations.
David Ornstein of the Athletic claims that Paul Pogba is now open to signing a new contract at Manchester United after United’s 4-1 trouncing of Newcastle United at Old Trafford last weekend. Paul Pogba has one objective, which is a success. Success has been hard to come by at United for a good few years which explains the French Midfielder’s reluctance to renew his deal.
The arrivals of Real Madrid legends Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo will undoubtedly have a positive effect on Paul Pogba’s decision on whether to remain at the club he originally joined in 2009 before departing for Juventus for free years after. All Paul Pogba has ever wanted at United is a strong, winning team surrounding him on the pitch.
Who could he actually join?
Of course, most clubs around Europe would be interested in signing Paul Pogba, he is arguably one of the best midfielders in the world currently. His former-side Juventus are struggling not just financially but in the league also. They lost more than 200m euros last year and are predicting more losses next year. Real Madrid is focusing next year’s window on bringing in fellow Frenchman Kylian Mbappe after a failed pursuit in last summer’s transfer window. Could a lack of options force Pogba to sign a new deal at United or will Mino Raiola find a new destination before the end of the campaign?
