I’m from Manchester and I’ve been a United fan for as long as I can remember. I love the club but have always felt an emotional connection when watching the academy

The young Swede burst onto the scene towards the end of last with his debut against Leicester and first goal against Wolves which was followed by 2 in 2 for Sweden u21’s. However, for those who have had a keen eye on the academy for the last few years, Anthony has been a clear talent but also very raw. His style is pretty much perfect for this era of the premier league as he is an attacker who can play from the left, right, or as a center-forward. Possessing speed that terrifies defenders, Elanga is at his most threatening playing…

The young centre back was signed during a hectic deadline day last season which saw 4 other signings come in as well as Kambwala. Due to the price of £4 million, there was quite a bit of excitement about this as Willy came with quite the reputation. Unfortunately, we only got to see him once during the 2020/21 season due to an injury picked up in a friendly against salford shortly after his u18 debut. https://www.instagram.com/p/CF-RAWMlg4r/ Despite mainly playing mainly for Ligue 2 Sochaux’s u19’s, there is plenty of footage of him at just 15 dominating a much older age…

Dylan Levitt is a player who divides opinion with those that have seen him, whether it be for Manchester United, Charlton Athletic, NK Istra or Wales. The gifted young midfielder certainly received a lot of praise from a young age as he developed an excellent relationship with James Garner – in the academy or in their lone performance together for the senior team. However, has he developed well enough and what should United do with Levitt next? https://www.instagram.com/p/CEt-6nUlWlb/ Levitt making his debut for Wales back in September 2020 Dylan first garnered attention in his debut U18 season back in 2017/18,…

It has been a long time since Old Trafford has hosted a full crowd – 16 months to be precise. However, earlier today, Boris Johnson announced that from the 19th of July, football stadiums will be allowed to be at full capacity. The last game with a full crowd at Old Trafford was the memorable 2-0 victory over Man City, where Scott McTominay scored an iconic derby goal. Players will be chomping at the bit to play and perform in front of the fans, and their first chance at this will be in a pre-season friendly against Brentford on the…

Charlie McNeill was a signing that was well publicised last summer. Partly because he had signed from Man City, but also because he had an unbelievable record of 600 goals during his time at City. The boyhood United left for Man City in 2014 as a schoolboy before returning last summer for a fee that could rise up to £1,500,000. Charlie cited a clearer pathway to the first team as a key role in the decision making process that saw him turn down City and rejoin United https://www.instagram.com/p/B9cbKa8H83Y/ It’s safe to say that Mcneill has settled in well at United…

Manchester United have traditionally had great success in the youth cup as it correlates with the attitude around youth development which was created by Sir Matt Busby. However, the last time United won the youth cup was in 2010/11. That was an exceptional team which included the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Ravel Morrison, Will & Michael Keane, Sam Johnstone and Ryan Tunnicliffe, who have all had varying degrees of success in England. Although there hasn’t been a youth cup winning team, United have still managed to produce the likes of Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, Dean Henderson, Adnan Januzaj…

There has been quite a lot of talk this summer over Manchester United signing a new right back. Over the last season, Ole has only really trusted Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right back with Williams sporadically playing there. During the last few months, the common consensus has been that United will target experienced England international Kieran Trippier or give the recent Portuguese debutant Diogo Dalot another chance but should this spot be given to 19 year old Ethan Laird? Solskjaer, speaking about Laird, described him as “A full back in the mould that we want. He’s physical, he’s quick, he’s strong,…

There hasn’t been much to smile about as a Manchester United fan since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, however, the recruitment in the academy has been one of the few positives. There has been a vast improvement over the last few years, in particular with high profile youth signings. The biggest name bought in is Hannibal Mejbri who signed for the 2019/20 season and other notable transfers include Willy Kambwala, Charlie McNeill and Marc Jurado. Despite this, one of the more promising signings has been 16-year old Isak Hansen-Aaroen from Tromso for £90,000 which saw Aidy Barlow going the…
